Inspiring thoughtful people to explore Scotland slowly.
I’m Laura and I write about slower travel and switching off.
Since 2012, I’ve been blogging and creating content online. Over the years I’ve worked with a range of brands and organisations to tell not only their stories, but the histories of places in the country I call home.
Previous clients include VisitScotland, Barbour, Hidden Scotland, Passion Passport, ScotRail, National Trust for Scotland and This Is Edinburgh, among others.
My writing and digital content has won awards, with my essay collection recently shortlisted by The Emma Press.
My academic background is in English Literature and French. I also hold qualifications in content design, spatial data and mapping.
What I do
I’m an award-winning and experienced writer, with bylines in both online and print publications — from the legendary Scots Magazine to stylish slow travel brand Hidden Scotland. I write features, essays, listicles, interviews, travel guides and more.
Creating beautiful words, photography or video never feels like work to me. Especially not when the subject is Scotland. If you’re looking for a passionate and authentic content creator for a campaign, and you think I’d be a good fit, send me a DM.
I’ve worked with organisations and brands not only to grow their audiences online, but to create consistent branding, templates and tone of voice. Managing social media doesn’t have to be difficult. Let me show you how to simplify.
